Description

We submit the theme Fishbowl to the Moodle CONTRIB as a token of our dedication to the community.

The concept behind Fishbowl is clarity. With its transparent windows, a refreshing color palette, and new icons that add a visual sparkle, UVCMS's latest theme aims to give the user a deeper appreciation of Moodle. Translucent blocks seem to float on the surface, with shades of color sweeping below, giving the sensation of depth, and creating new layers in space. It is a look that is stylish in its simplicity.

Thanks for submitting the Fishbowl theme. I have created a component in the tracker called Theme: Fishbowl and bumped your privileges so that you can manage issues related to the Fishbowl theme. In preparing to add the theme to CVS there were a few files that I wanted to clarify if they are actually necessary. The first is TINY-ICONS, the second ICONS-16x16, and the third SMILEYS. If you could check and let me know if it is safe to delete these I would appreciate it. At a very cursory glance they looked to be extraneous. Peace - Anthony

For the time being, I removed the files and added the rest to CVS. The next step, is to have you apply for access to contrib/plugins/theme/fishbowl and then you can maintain the theme as needed. Thanks for this prompt response. However we are interrested in another thing. Is there a chance to include either fishbowl or foodle theme inside Moodle distribution? If not for 1.9x than for upcoming 2.0.

Darko - Adding the code to CONTRIB is the first step in that process. The next step is to create another tracker issue in the Moodle project for a new feature and then ask that the theme be considered for 2.0. It is highly unlikely that we would add a theme to an already released version. The idea is that you stop adding features once it is released and just fix issues in that code. Now that the code is in CONTRIB it can easily be evaluated and tweaked on the CVS server. Let me know what the tracker issue number is so that I can watch and/or comment on it. From what I recall on the forums the theme was well received. After you create, you can announce on the Theme forum that you are hoping to have the theme included in Moodle 2.0 and ask for folks to comment/vote in support of it. It would be good to get some fresh themes in for 2.0. Thanks again for sharing the theme and let me know how I can supportive of your efforts. Peace - Anthony
