Allisun - Do you know if you observe this same behavior with the standard gradebook? If so, could you file an issue in the Moodle tracker as well. I try to keep fixes between the two somewhat synchronized so that as issues get resolved in standard Moodle they are resolved in GBPv2 as well and vice versa. Peace - Anthony

I've confirmed this bug exists in the original Grade book under Moodle 1.8.3 (2007021534) and created a tracker incident for it:

Ken - Thanks for creating MDL-12842. I'll take a look at it. So I guess that we would want to exclude all extra-credit scores from the possibility of being dropped and otherwise use the existing language. Just to make sure we are all on the same page, I will create 10 offline assignments with scores of (100, 90, 80, 70, 60, 50, 40,30, 20, and 10). We will drop the two lowest scores; however, the 10 point assignment will be extra-credit. As a result we want to drop the 20 and 30 from the scoring. This will give: 100+90+80+70+60+50+40=490 point out of 700 plus 10 points extra-credit=500/700. Am I understanding correctly what the goal is? Peace - Anthony

Yu - Since this is essentially the same issue, I have added you as a watcher so that you will see what progress we are making here. I added myself as a watcher to MDL-12842. I'm going to try and take a look at this today. Peace - Anthony

MDL-12842 and CONTRIB-221 are the same issue. MDL-12842 is for Moodle 1.8 core and CONTRIB-221 is for the GBPv2 patch. The fix for one will fix the other.

Credit score dropping is seems like dropping you into huge debt. Unfortunately, most companies won't even bother to look at you if you do not possess at least a decent credit score. Most creditors report all open accounts, balances, late payments and so forth to the three main national credit bureaus. These credit bureaus determine a credit score for each consumer based upon their own mathematical algorithm which creditors look at before awarding or denying you credit. Many people don't realize the importance of having a good credit history. Everything from car insurance, to personal employment, takes into account your credit score. I have opted not to fix this issue in favor of Moodle 1.9. I am no longer actively maintaining the GBPv2 and suggest all users of that code to upgrade to Moodle 1.9 instead. If someone provides a working patch, I would be happy to test it and check it in to the GBPv2 patch. Peace - Anthony
