Hey folks. This functionality is on a critical path for Moodle implementation at our institution. Our management will not approve Moodle usage until we are able to manually approve posts so that we can ensure all visible material meets certain, stringent requirements of our local educational system. I tried the previous forum_post patches Contrib-1085 and 2022 and neither work in the latest 2.0 Stable distribution. 2022 caused the entire site to go down and nothing displayed by a blank, white space. The file which caused this was lib.php (I found this with random trial and error file reversion). When lib.php changed, the entire site went down. When I put back the original file, everything was visible but posting to the forum caused an error "Legacy code is not available" or something like that. At any rate, please please please provide us with an update on the migration of this to 2.0 Stable. Also, I am running this on a remote web server running linux. I do not have SSH access to get a command line to call up patch scripts so I need the actual, changed files to ftp over to the new site so the new Approve functionality is available. Please ensure you continue to provide those as you did with 1085 and 2022. Thanks!

Thanks for your interest. I had started to look at what would be need for the patch to work but taking the work from 1.9 and getting it to work in 2.0 would require more time and effort than I currently have. I never used it on any of my production servers but simply put it together because there seemed to be a need. What I would recommend for Moodle 2.0 is to make it a separate module that is based on the forum activity module. Then tweak it. What stopped my work on upgrading it was the changes made to how ratings are handled. It was clear that it was not going to be a quick and easy upgrading of code so I abandoned it. Please feel free to pick it up and give it a go. If there is anything I can do to be of help just let me know. I am happy to answer any questions. Peace - Anthony

Does it look like anyone else is likely to pick this up Ant? If not I can talk to other devs to see if they can develop it.
