Description

I've installed the Face-to-Face module and it does some amazing things. My one desire, though, is to have the face-to-face events show up on the calendar. I'm going to be problematic because my face-to-face events are often video conferences that have many locations on the same day (to manage room capacities as well as site connections), so I wouldn't be surprised if a solution had my 40 sites all showing up on the same day as 40 separate events. (Obviously, I would prefer to have it show up only once and link back to the Face-to-Face screen where they could see the list of all the sites available on that day.)

Any connection between Face-To-Face and the calendar would be a great help.

Thanks for the suggestion Julie.

Just to clarify what you are asking for: you would like to see in a user's calendar, the sessions for which he/she has signed up ?

So if you sign up for a Face-to-face session, you will sign up for a given date and location, so that's the only one that would be shown in your calendar. The sessions which are available but for which you have not signed up would not be shown in your calendar.

What I'd really like is for folks to be able to browse the calendar for events the way they do the courses. Therefore, I'm thinking all face-to-face events would need to be site events to be viewable by everyone on the calendar. (Or to make it more complicated there would be additional calendar categories such as videoconferences, stand-up training, graduate classes, and webconferences that would fall one notch under site events so that you could choose to display them or not.)

Julie, your idea for using the face-to-face would be great for those one day seminars. Another bonus would be if it could be done so that it does NOT have to sit in a course. I can see the event on the calendar, I can register and pay for the seminar with one easy click.

Here is a patch which adds sessions to USER calendars.

Students: when they sign-up for a session
Teachers: when they create a session

This is not a complete fix for what you'd like, but is a step towards proper calendar integration.

Cheers,
Francois
