Suggest you resolve this (probably WONTFIX) - but, for information, I have converted ousearch to moodle 2 (as local/ousearch plugin). We haven't made it publicly available yet but if anyone wants it feel free to ask.

I'm resolving this bug - the OU has already converted ousearch to Moodle 2, but it is probably better to use a 'pluggable' solution such as that planned by (forget how to spell his name sorry, it's a bit like Thomas) and discussed in forums/developer meeting etc. Especially if you can use that to efficiently plug in a dedicated search system running on separate server.
