Hi Colin,

have you managed to resolve this issue?

1. - make sure you have the most updated 1.8 Moodle Code

2 - check that you have the correct permissions set for the moodledata folder

3 - make sure you have adequete free disk space where your moodledata folder is stored.

thanks,

Dan

hello, this is most probably a server-side problem in moodledate directory:

  • incorrect permission
  • full disk (or quota)

There was also a bug in cron code which was fixed in 1.8.3 - the sessions were not purged properly and temporary tables were not always cleaned.

Please verify your moodle data directory and install latest 1.8.3+

Hi,

I have just installed moodle-weekly-19, and everything went fine including my first login, but when I logged out and tried to login again I got denied as user/pwd not recognized. I have...

*checked the permissions for my moodledata folder as being the same as my web server permissions
*more than enough disk space
*checked and quintachecked my typing of the details

but still cannot find the error...

My moodledata folder is in /var/www. My moodle installation is in /var/www/somefolder/moodle. Does this make a difference?

MysQL Server version: 5.1.37-1ubuntu5.1 (Ubuntu)
Linux Ubuntu 9.10
Theme - aarvark-svc

Many thanks....

Resolved - I had the wrong format for the password... never had a capital letter in it!
