Probably best to show all feedback when general feedback is show, instead of in readonly mode.

No, that won't work because in adaptive mode :

  • if Students may review: General Feedback is set to Immediately after the attempt
->General Feedback is shown immediately after the student clicks the Submit button which would give away the answers
  • if Students may review: General Feedback is not set to Immediately after the attempt
->General Feedback is not shown when the students have submitted their whole quiz and are reviewing their responses

In the hack I propose, students are shown the INDIVIDUAL feedback for EACH of the choices after they have submitted their whole quiz and are reviewing their responses, which is EXACTLY the right moment (in my opinion) to show it to them.

You are right Joseph. I was thinking about what the situation would be after the adaptive-mode changes we are working on here.

I have only changed this in head, because it does affect how questions work in a way that teachers might not want to change unexpectedly on a supposedly stable branch. However it is a tiny patch if anyone wants to add it to an earlier version after due consideration.

We think that the option should be given to teachers to display only the feedback of the checked option in multiple choice questions. There are pedagogical scenarios where this option is important, e.g. when the feedback is a hint to the correct solution when the student repeates the test.

Marco, I see your point, but what about situations when the test is used strictly for learning (not testing) purposes and is not repeated?
