Lets get this in head for 2.0.

Also please post the issues Eloy noted in his code review so we can start working through them.

Stuart Anderson added a comment - 22/Aug/07 06:40 PM
I really do want to see nwiki make it into 2.0, although before it is released it must match or better the behaviour of the old wiki. Issues I've recently found out/been told about:

1. In nwiki editor group mode, students in different groups can see/select attachments belonging to other groups. This means that attachments are not private. Privacy of student's work is very important.

2. In HTML editor mode, the last time I checked, users could not add attachments to pages. I love the attachments interface from the nwiki editor. It would be be great to see the same interface in the HTML editor mode (and simple markup mode if not there). Either way, users must be able to attach files/images when in HTML editor mode.

Other than that, the only other issues I still have are fairly minor and relate to making interface elements clearer (e.g. the permissions system and set up options) and documentation. I did spend quite a few hours/days updating the English language docs and strings which can be found at: http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=75018. These are mostly complete, any any gaps that remain relate to aspects that were still being developed or weren't clear to be.

I find the current ewiki a real pain and it is becoming embarrassing to me to keep saying to people that a new wiki is just around the corner. There are so many things in nwiki that I love and I think it is almost release ready with regards to functionality and interface. However, I appreciate that moodle.org also have code requirements that regular users don't see. I think that releasing moodle 2.0 without the nwiki (assuming above issues resolved) would be a travesty. Please vote for the new wiki.

I've tried Nwiki and it's great, better than the current wiki (I hate it).
What are we waiting for? I vote for Nwiki.

Gonzalo Serrano added a comment - 08/Sep/07 08:41 PM
Done

Xavier de Pedro added a comment - 10/Sep/07 05:42 PM
Done. Good luck ludo! (I hope to see it in Moodle 2.0). It'll be a pleasure learning and teaching with it.

Eloy Lafuente (stronk7) added a comment - 17/Sep/07 01:56 AM
Why the hell isn't this bug tracker able to emit negative votes? Uhm...

Okey, okey, I'll vote affirmative :-D :-P :-D ... (in a couple of weeks)

Ciao

Juan Marin added a comment - 18/Sep/07 02:52 PM
It would be very, very, very nice to have Nwiki in the standard release (in fact, I need it in the standard package )

isabel R. added a comment - 18/Sep/07 03:24 PM
Jo vaig votar abans de que el Ludo oferís el sugus, però me'l donareu igual no? :-P

NWiki for 2.0 UP!!!!

I really would love to see NWiki making it into 2.0

Lluisa Nunez added a comment - 27/Sep/07 05:59 PM
University of Barcelona moodle site already uses nWiki. Please we want it as standard module in 1.9! It is much more robust and reliable than ewiki!

Martin Dougiamas added a comment - 20/Feb/08 02:40 PM
We're going to have do a lot of refactoring on this code.

Matt Gibson added a comment - 05/Mar/08 07:24 PM
As part of the refactor, I'd like to request that the history tab have a compare versions thing like mediawiki has. The nwiki features are brilliant, but I want to be able to quickly work out exactly what contribution a student has made in terms of total words written, or maybe total words added/removed and whether they were silly edits or of real value. Some sort of student contributions view would solve this maybe?

Eloy Lafuente (stronk7) added a comment - 29/Apr/08 06:57 AM
Going to close this as Won't Fix.

Eloy Lafuente (stronk7) added a comment - 29/Apr/08 06:58 AM
Eh, it was a joke!!! :-D :-P

Closing as resolved. Nwiki will arrive with 2.0. Hopefully work will start soon. Ciao
