I would prefer to see this calculated fully (and properly) at least once and then cached in the session as a boolean.

I've fixed up some variable naming inconsistencies, and added a bit of documentation to the beginning of accesslib to explain variable names and function name. While I didn't rename the _fad() functions, perhaps it helps
