In Assignments -> Advanced Uploading of Files or Upload a single file, it is not possible to upload a .pages (from iWork suite) file. If one locates and points to the desired file and hits upload, nothing happens. If the file is in a compressed (.zip) format, it can then be both uploaded and downloaded but confusing things happen if the user accepts an offer to have the file decompressed by Moodle.
Same thing happens in Files » Course_Files
Upload a file --> /Course_Files
The help says that all file types can be uploaded. Why not Pages files, which are both lovely and easy to load up for language course with audio snippits?

My guess is that the files can not be uploaded because they aren't truly a single file. Apple has set them up so that they appear as a single file but in reality are a package. You can see this if you navigate to where the file is via terminal or just right click on a numbers or pages file and select 'view package contents'. While moodle supports any type of file upload, to the best of my knowledge it doesn't support a file upload that is not actually a single file.
