Setting the category was much faster in Moodle 1.8

Description

In 1.8, setting the assignment category was much easier, just a drop down box and you could set several assignments to categories at once. In 1.9, you have to click on each assignment to change the category and this is horribly slow and tedious just like moving items around the course page. I would like for us revert to the 1.8 behavior.

There is no easy way to revert to previous state, instead we will have to implement ajax based interface.
