Sure this is written somewhere but to have it noted, one simple idea:

Be able to tag everything inside Moodle, activities, resources, courses, site.... not sure how that "interacts" with outcomes (that could be considered tags too" but it will help to find things (related with user interests).

Just thought I'd leave a comment here, saying that we can now tag courses in 2.0.

I think that the next step in here would be to have categories of tags, where it would be possible to limit a category to a certain element (eg, category "days" would be linked only to courses, category "animals" only to ressources, etc.). I wonder how hard it would be to make one category course-specific... or to make "official" tags apply only to it..? This would make it possible to have a tag have a different type (official or default) in different categories.

Dreaming a bit...
