It would be nice to have a 4th possibility for the front page format which for logged-in users shows the student's timetable (i.e. weekly calendar) in the centre pane of the front page. The course events that will be shown on the calendar will provide convenient links to the courses.

From Gustav Delius (gwd2 at york.ac.uk) Saturday, 21 August 2004, 06:35 AM:

This is still high up on my wishlist.

From Jon Papaioannou (pj at moodle.org) Monday, 30 August 2004, 09:07 PM:

Martin, there's a very very short discussion at http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=11156.

Keeping that in mind, shall I take this over? Even though I will most likely NOT do it quickly.

to write a new print_calendar_detailed function would be suffice to solve this problem? did anybody made any attempts, this tracker seems to be forgotten.

We are in our pilot phase of implementing Moodle in a PK-12 environment. I have had several teachers looking for this layout for their students. I don't see much discussion about this, but it would be a great feature for the visual learners.

I realized that most moodlers used google calendar option with iframe. We tested the same feature with moodle's internal calendar function. Simply iframed the modified view.php of calendar to the topic section and so far it is going good. To implement to front pages drop down menu right now is for long term. I attached a screen shot for the frontpage cal view. ( regular cal.view.php modified to remove, footer, right column items to give a smooth look)
