Unread Posts numbers does not always appear correctly on the course page

Description

Logged in as a student and changed the student profile as follows:

Forum Tracking: Yes, highligth new posts for me

Made 9 new posts under a different user.
When logged in as the student above only 8 unread posts is in the Course page

Hi Andrew,

I can't reproduce this.

Can you give more details of how you create the posts? Are they all new threads or are some responses to threads?

Also have digest mails been sent?

Hi Dan

Most are responses to existing threads and they go about 4 levels deep and yes, groups mode is used. This problem has also been reported by several other students which prompted me to re-create the problem
