Link to forums in forums list does not work for forums set as separate groups

Description

Students looking for the forum used the forums link in the course menu, but found that the two forums I had set to separate groups could not be clicked on as their names were not links.

Lots of not-done homework

The visible groups forums were fine.

I do not understand, could you please describe exact steps to reprodice it.

  • Are roupings enabled?
  • What are the course group settings
  • Group membership?
  • Is groupmembersonly used?
  • Where exactly do you see/ not see those links?

Hi Petr, sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

1. Grouping are enabled
2. 3 groupings (none of them have any groups in them) + 3 groups.
3. about 12-18 in each group (everyone is in one or other of them).
4. don't know where to find that setting
5. Click on the 'Forums' link in the 'Activities' block and you get a list of forums. The lower two forums are there, but can't be clicked.

Also, as admin, the links work fine for me. Its just the students who have a problem. They can get into the forums fine if they do so from the main course page.
