Description

When adding the resource 'link to web page' using the settings

  • Show in same window
  • Keep page navigation visible on the same page
Moodle takes you to the extern URL. The 'breadcrumb' links are shown in a very short moment before you are redirected entirely.

Hope this havn't been reported before, at least I could not find it.

Seems to work here. I've added http://moodle.org in the same window, keeping navigation visible and I see my site header plus moodle.org page in a frame below in the same window.

Perhaps it's a matter of the destination URL making some js/target to be opened in main frame? Can the URL be known to test it?

Ciao

I tested & replicated with http://docs.moodle.org/en/Using_Moodle_book on demo.moodle.org on different machines with XP and Ubuntu.

One of my teachers do not have the problem, so I tested some more on www.danskonline.dk and demo.moodle.org. On danskonline it seems to depend on which user it is. On demo.moodle it is more complicated.
I can't say something about in general.

One test confirmed the danskonline experience, that it seems to be connected to the user independent of what OS or browser is used. But then...

I linked to http://blueballfixed.ytmnd.com/ and to http://docs.moodle.org/en/Using_Moodle_book. BlueBall Maschine works fine while Using Moodle Book don't get the navigation frame. Then I - as admin on FF/XP - linked to BBM on the demo site again and got 2 frames with navigation links! I logged in as teacher on Ubuntu with Epiphany, still got the 2 navigation frames, none for Using Moodle Book and one for the first link to BBM.
