I reviewed the open bugs of chat in tracker, most issues are about add new features to chat, which include:
1. visual beep 2. smilies selector bar 3. whisper functionality 4. kick out participants 5. moderation 6. restrict opening of chat 7. send file I am not sure which one we can implement in mod/chat, how do you think, Eloy? And, a number of bugs are about chatd.php, the chat deamon, I think I should inspect this issue. And, I found a "chat module revamped" in tracker, see MDL-8224, I checked the changes to chatd.php, which can help us solve some problems, can I merged it into mod/chat? (of course, after testing)

There are several other javascript errores when open chat window in chat server daemon mode:
1. firefox doesn't support attachEvent
2. a errors in prepareusers() mod/chat/gui_sockets/chatinput.php
