Description
calendar events sent via email--much like the Forum subscription (all, none, optional) or Subscription option at the bottom of the add a new discussion topic page
there are a third part plug-in Calendar Event Remainder, but it is not upgraded to 1.9.
I think it would be in core disrtibution.
