I know you've been working on some of the messaging improvements so I am assigning this to you; however, if you need to re-assign it please feel free to do so. In the current version of HEAD, I tried to send a message to another user and received a PHP notice:
Notice: Undefined property: object::$component in /home/arborrow/Moodle/code/cvshead/lib/messagelib.php on line 79

this is related to martin's recent changes to my code.
Should be fixed as soon as I update all my code.
