Description

The 'hover' feedback for cloze questions is unlikely to be discovered by a student without instruction. A short instruction text would be helpful. This type of feedback most likely has some nasty accessibility issues too.

The result is shown as an active dropdown box - this makes no sense. The student can change the answer but is still shown the original feedback.

The last bit at least is already fixed in 1.4 - reviewed quizzes have all the controls disabled.

From Howard Miller (howard.miller at udcf.gla.ac.uk) Monday, 2 August 2004, 11:06 PM:

Mmm... this was with CVS code I downloaded today. The other question types seem disabled, but not cloze. There are loads of errors and notices coming up on the page and the feedback highlighting seems rather browser specific (like it doesn't work in Safari). I take it this is work in progress?

You have specified 1.3 in the bug report. Are you using 1.4 development? (this is clearly in development and fixes for specific small issues are welcome!!)

From Howard Miller (howard.miller at udcf.gla.ac.uk) Monday, 2 August 2004, 11:21 PM:

Ooops! Sorry. I tried it in 1.3.3, and then (seeing as I had just downloaded it) tried it in 1.4dev with the indicated results. I'll have a look at the warnings/notices myself over the next few days - I'll try and be more specific at least!

BTW - one of my colleagues pointed out that for accessibility using CSS styles to convey important information (eg, right or wrong answer) is a bad plan, as is using red and green colours (red/green colour blindness). I wouldn't dare say such a thing, of course

This may also be the origin of the report in MDL-1406. Howard, did you make much progress with this?
