The comment in install.php indicates: "no password field here, the password may be visible in config" but I am not sure why the possibility of seeing it in config.php would not make the password field a better option when completing the form. For example, in a classroom setting if I am trying to demo showing folks how to install Moodle I may not want them to see the database password. Peace - Anthony
