Description

With debug level set to Normal (show errors and warnings), when editing a course appears at the bottom of the right column the message (many times):

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /var/www/html/moodle/lib/blocklib.php on line 429

When you turn off editing course, then the message disappears.

If the debug level is set to Minimal, then the message disappears.

It looks like that this messages appears just before the block that allows to add more blocks. But I'm not sure about that

If you need more information or direct access to the site just tell me. Hope it helps.

I have the same issue exactly. Would love a fix for this. Was helpful to find out it was tied to debugging. At least now I came make the message go away, but doesn't really sole the issue.

I also noticed that if you delete all blocks and then add them again the problem go's away.

Possibly a glitch in the db upgrade process, we only saw this after going from 1.9.1 to 1.9.5.

Again, I have exactly this issue but on line 430 of blocklib.php. I'm glad others are reporting it as I am working on some blocks at the moment and thought this error was my fault.

LAMP, Moodle 1.9.5+.

Hi All,

This sounds like it might be a problem with third party modules. Do you have any third party modules installed?

I can't reproduce this issue. Like I said in my earlier message - I believe this will be caused by buggy third party modules rather than in moodle itself.

This should probably be re-opened as related to MDL-26657.
