I've just had a conversation with someone who preferred blackboard to Moodle as it was far simpler to use. I discussed further and found that the forms are overwhelming with too many options. Drupal deals with this by having each sub section collapsed when the form loads, with an icon for an animated expand/collapse function for just that section.

We currently have something a bit like this with the advanced options thingy, but it expands/collapses all sections at once, instead of just one at a time.

It would be great to make these changes

1. All required fields to be at the top of every form
2. All fieldsets to have expand/collapse icons and to start off in collapsed state
3. advanced options appear greyed out until a checkbox is ticked along the lines of 'unlock advanced items'.
