Description

If we use outcomes as we want to, we'll have some courses with 75 outcomes!! This produces a rather long list which makes the page rather clunky and puts teachers off using it.

Could we have them wrap into columns to reduce the scroll of the page? Or any better display solution if someone can suggest one? We could group our outcomes into Units, but I'm not sure that would apply to everyone

  2. Unit 3.csv

I can't quite visualise your idea of wrapping outcomes in columns. They're already in columns aren't they?

Maybe one solution is simply to hide outcomes, but this would only be useful if they are not included in the aggregation of category and course totals. We could also switch to only showing outcomes... Just some ideas. Anyway this is not something we'll look at until 2.0.

Sorry Nicolas, I should have said "in the assignment creation page". The outcomes are one long column. I'll attach a couple of outcome zip files so you can import them and see what I mean. Generally a course year will have 6 units, but even 2 gets a bit nasty.

The solution I propose is (somehow) split the list after maybe 10 outcomes and start on a new column. This will depend heavily on the size of the outcome name, but I think separate divs with an inline style should wrap below if it gets too wide.

If you use the outcomes to monitor State standards (which in some cases are hundreds of outcomes), then even the two column approach is clunky. Perhaps a drop-down or list box that can somehow be searched?

It seems the best way may be to have a tree menu, but that would mean adding "categories" to outcomes.
