Description

I was having major problem finding the correct icon, the PI letter is not intuitive enough imo, we should use something more similar to office/openoffice - square root icon

OK, I'll bite.... What kind of major problem in finding the icon did you have?
SEE will have a number of math plugins, all of which have their own icons, many of which have had the same icons for quite some time, so if you want to change one of the icons perhaps it would be best to raise that in the Math forum?

My issue with icon is that I was not able to find it because as I have written above it does not look like icon with the same meaning in Word and Openoffice. The fact that you know which icon is dragmath is not significant because your are not typical user, sorry. There will be only one math tool in official distribution of moodleenabled by default, we have to use the most intuitive icon we can find, not what you recognize as dragmath icon.

And yes I did try to raise the issue in math forum, but it is not correct place, we have to ask teachers and students without any previous dragmath knowledge

Proposed new icon attached, it is not perfect though but I hope it should be enough for demonstration.

Looking at http://tracker.moodle.org/secure/attachment/17693/icon_comparison.png I think the pi icon is confusing as it's very similar to the custom character icon, omega.

+1 for the square root icon as used in MS Office and OpenOffice.org.

However, I don't think the choice of icon is a big deal, as there's always the mouse-over text.

Here attached a modified version (not a copy of MSOffice equation editor icon but similar enough to those Windows users that have used equation editor in Word etc)

Is it any better?

And if dragmath2.gif looks too bold attached a slim version dragmath3.gif

(in previous "another screenshot" reddish effect comes from a screenshot of screenshot - in real toolbar there is no such spreading of red color...)

Small change to dragmath2.gif (part of red to shadow - darker red) and result is dragmath4.gif...
