Description
Bit of a tricky one to define but I'll try...
When Groupings are used within a course and assessment tasks are allocated to different groupings, then all assessment tasks show in the gradebook User Report for a student.
To replicate:
1. Set up a course using Groupings, with (say) a different forum allocated to each Grouping.
2. Allocate students to groups, and groups to groupings, like you do.
3. As in image 1, the teacher can see all activities and the groupings to which these activities belong, whereas the student sees just the activity allocated to their grouping - excellent (did have another image to show this - until I found out there was a 3 image upload limit - bah!).
4. Student views their user report in the gradebook and they can see all of the activities for all groupings listed as in image 3, whereas they should only be seeing the ones that are allocated to them.
5. The only saving grace is that if they click on any grouping of which they are not a member then it throws them out with an error as in image 4, so at least it is a usability issue rather than a security issue.
Post back if this doesn't make sense - worth mentioning that this also happens to non-editing teachers who have the capability to view across all groups switched off - they are in the same boat, but the use case isn't anywhere near as common.
Thanks!
Mark.
