Description

Just another suggestion for 2.0.
It would be good if you could move topics (as in topic vs weeks format) around as quickly as you can move categories and items around in the gradebook. At the moment, it is necessary to keep hitting the up or down icon until you eventually get it into the slot you want. Maybe Ajax will fix all this?

From what I've been told, AJAX doesn't function in all areas of Moodle at the moment, even if it is turned on. I certainly have it turned on - but there's no difference. I'm under the impression that AJAX should allow you to move things in a drag and drop fashion?

Do you have javascript turned on in your browser?

If you do, it's just a matter of :

1. Turning Editing on (top right)
2. Hovering your mouse over the topic name area until you get a 'hand' or 'cross' as a mouse pointer.
3. Click, drag and drop

This also works for moving activities, resources and blocks.

If you still get the manual arrows instead of AJAX as above, then something else is wrong (maybe your theme or course format?)

Thanks Barry - I went looking through my Ajax settings and found that although I had 'Enable Ajax' on, I also had 'disable Ajax Course Editing' on as well. I was completely unaware that this setting existed and had assumed that the functionality hadn't been extended to topics and assignments etc. Now I can move things around easily - so thanks again.
This ticket could now be closed.
