Description

Teachers are currently able to view students' grades in all courses, including courses for which they do not have teacher rights, in the overview report.

Workaround: Remove the overview report link - see http://docs.moodle.org/en/Simplifying_the_gradebook

Idea from meeting was to just check the capability to view grades at SYSTEM level and if you don't have it then you can only see your own.

Petr, thanks for fixing this issue.

I've tested the latest 1.9.5+ and found that teachers can only view their own overview report.

Am I understanding this issue correctly? Are teachers not allowed to view the grades of students in the other courses that they are taking? This was a huge plus for our high school. There should be an option so individual schools can choose to allow this or not.

Matt, you're right, there should be an option, such as a capability. Hopefully this will be included in the Moodle 2.0 gradebook improvements.

We are still really bummed that this change was implemented. This was such a powerful option. We still need the ability where individual schools can choose whether or not they want to allow their teachers to view all the grades in the courses of which their students are enrolled. It is disappointing that we used to have this option and it was taken away.
