Description

After discussing this issue on the page http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=133912 I suggest that for privacy and collaborative reasons the default value for the setting "Email digest type" to be "Complete (daily email with full posts)" .

email digests are sent only once a day, I do not think it is a good idea to make this default
please note you can easily change installation defaults for mass deployments in 2.0

@Petr: good to know this default can be set for 2.0. reading between the lines...I *think what Bente might be referring to is the fact that the default email digest type = no digest ie users (may) receive numerous unique mail notifications in a given day. Anecdotally, I've seen the default digest setting cause a lot of angst for new moodlers because they don't understand how to control this setting. If we're encouraging people to use, subscribe to discussion forums, who REALLY wants 100+ unique forum notifications in their inbox per day?! Just my 2cw.
