Description
In my face to face workshops, I use a worksheet where a student decides on an issue they want to work on from their career and then answers four questions about it in essay form. i have them answer the first question, then there is some feedback and discussion, and then they go on to the next. When answering later questions on the worksheet, it's important for them to easily refer to their choice of issue and also their answers to the first questions on the sheet. I find Moodle incapable of doing this well. There are workarounds, but none of them are very effective. Online text seems to be the closest activity. So my suggestion is that there be a progressive online text variant. In that variant, the online text activity would have sections that were completed as separate activities. And for each one, the student saw what the earlier questions were and what their answers were. Another way to do this would be to permit grouping online text activities in a way that when you were working on one of them, you could easily see your responses to the earlier ones. The idea is to mimic the worksheet, which I have found very effective. I've attached a sample worksheet so you can see what I'm talking about.
