Description

The longtimenosee setting is currently a site-wide setting. It would be more useful if it were made a course-level setting.

For example, in the moodle.org site, the main Using Moodle course needs a short setting (30 days) while Moodle for Language Teaching has more infrequent traffic. We have a monthly news go out and don't want to keep losing our subscribers. So we hope to set the longtimenosee to a longer period--say 90 or 120 days.

Actually, even more useful would be to keep it as a site-wide setting but allow individual course setting to overwrite it if needed. I have also a situation that a few courses should have a different longtimenosee value than the bulk.

this would not really be a new feature but an improvement on existing functionality

On the Moodle for Language Teaching course, forum activity is infrequent, but we have a need for occasional support of language learning modules, such as NanoGong. Unfortunately, the support team for NanoGong has been removed (they are still subscribed to the forum but removed from the site and therefore unenroled). Also, the moderators send out periodic newsletters and we would like to keep enrolled members for longer periods of time. Would a year be possible?
