Description

The value of course profiles is currently somewhat limited. Typically users arriving at another users course profile immediately click through to the full profile anyway.

Perhaps the course profile page should display the user's full profile with course specific information above or below it. Perhaps something else.

Whatever is done we need to agree on how it should work first so a spec should be written and screen mock ups produced.

Andrew, assuming you'd like this issue assigned to you and that a fix version of DEV backlog is appropriate. Please amend if not!

Not sure whether or not it will be me who does this or not. I've removed the fix for version.

I stumbled over the term 'course profile' yesterday for the first time. And its not quite clear what a course profile is and what a user profile is. Normally user profiles are only visible in the context of a course. So does it really make sense to have two different user profiles? Yes there is one situation where it makes sense. It is discussed over years to offer the option to add course specific information in the personal profile. From a teacher standpoint its wished to add reasons for participating or preknowledge related to the topics or personal objectives to the profile. May be that realted to the type of course I will present myself different. In a leadership training I would tell other things as in a community course.

Due to the option to add blocks to the user profile page we should discuss if this are privat or public blocks. Example: if a user adds the personal file block to the user profile block should other users see the users files or their own or is this block then invisible?
