Description
When managing a course over time, old files can hang about waiting to be deleted. It would be handy to be able to list orphan files that have not been used for a particular course or cannot be viewed by students. I am aware that there are some changes planned for the document management system for Moodle so this suggestion may be moot.

I realise this bug has been open for quite some time, but a way to detect orphaned files would be very useful indeed. We are about to embark on a 'spring clean' of our production 1.9 installation in preparation for moving to 2.x and I am hurredly trying to figure this out myself.
