Description
For a lot of reasons using an 'application folder' with dropbox is the way which dropbox seem to be pushing application developers and this is really much better for users. Do we really need full access to a users dropbox folder, or is the ability to have a 'drop box' for moodle in dropbox sufficient?
Is the answer within the dropbox forum.
Or did you get to this already, then I am sorry.
(solution is somewhere at the end)

This post suggests that there's a patch available to get moodle to work with the newer Dropbox API http://forums.dropbox.com/topic.php?id=48619

sigh http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/API
The Dropbox API https://www.dropbox.com/developers is what allows 3rd-party developers to build apps that integrate with the dropbox service, which includes the official mobile apps https://www.dropbox.com/anywhere
