Works as expected in 1.8 and 1.9. Must have been fixed along the way...

I can reproduce. I assign to me, however please read the following:

In order to test :
Just for information, I use multiple IE which make easier to open different IE browser (http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE)

The thing is that if I drag and drop the image into somewhere else I can see that the image come from my internet temporary folder. So I deduce that Windows doesn't copy the url from the drag and drop (but the image from the temporary folder).

Could you confirm that what you try to do is possible?
Have you ever success to do that ? (drag an image from IE into another software and retrieve its original url)

Sorry, I have no idea, I don't use Windows.

I reported that because Dave is a client of Catalyst

No problem Penny. I let it open for Dave. I'll let this issue open for a while. I'll close it as 'Not a bug' if we can't go further.

I added Dave as a watcher to this bug, maybe he can shed some light on the issue. (Hi, Dave!)

I close it as I don't consider it to be a Moodle bug. However if Dave you've got more information leading to a Moodle bug, you can reopen this issue. Thanks for the report Penny.
