Description

When renaming a folder in a course's Files, a message appears..."The following files might be referenced as a resource"...followed by a list of the files within the folder (that are referenced as resources), each followed by a link to "Update".
Clicking the "Update" link returns a "404 Page cannot be found" error.
Ignoring the "Update" link produces a 404 error when subsequently accessing the resources.

This is the only other 'folder renaming' bug I could find but was resolved in a previous version of moodle.

This should be fixed in 1.7, backporting to 1.6.x will not be trivial

I think this is a SERIOUS issue. NOT a minor one. I've got over sixty courses in Moodle right now with over 2000 students and I'm migrating another 70 courses over from WebCT. SO I'd love to have this feature ACTUALLY WORK as the WebCT import creates a pile of junk that I have to sort and when I train teachers to go in to clean up their courses, as well, they often MOVE THE FILES AROUND even if I tell them not to. I myself WOULD LOVE THIS FEATURE TO WORK. When I rename, I get the

The following files might be referenced as a resource :

COURSE_3425160_M/my_files/perspectives 04 : Update

message. When I click on "Update" it kicks me out of the system AS AN ADMIN and I have to relog back in. THIS SUCKS.

I am not a php/mysql/programmer. I'm an instructional designer. So, I don't know how to fix the code. BUT this seems like it SHOULD be a simple fix. By the way, many of us don't jump on the latest version of Moodle bandwagon because we have to customize and document our customized installations (because we're fixing breaks in code, more often than not), so it would be great if the fix was posted as code and not as a "update to the latest version". We'd really appreciate it.

I'm using Moodle version 1.6.2.

Thanks!

This was already fixed in 2.0dev, each resource has it's own file area, tehre should not be any renaming problems any more
thanks for the report
