Description

The use of shared "personal" tags generates very long lists of tags. It makes it hard to select the tags I want. I would like to see a short list of "my" tags only. I usually blog about few specific topics.

When editing the tags, it's hard to know which tags I can touch. A tag that I'm using might be created by someone else. If I know want to change eLearning to e-learning, I can't as it's not "mine" though I'm using the tag.

In the tag cloud and when browsing other peoples blogs I can see which tags they are using. Then I have to use the same tag if I want my posts to be in that "group". I think this approach works nicely. It's how most of the popular blog systems operate.

For an example see the tag list at moodle.org...

yeah +1 on this one.

The original idea was to try and avoid multiple spellings, but from what I can see this hasn't worked.

Hi,

Fixed this in 1.8. Now all user tags are typed in a text field, so you no longer have to look up/keep track, it create/attach the tags to blog posts automatically.

Cheers,

Yu
