Mails from the message module are sent to a previous mail address

Description

Forum subcribtions are send to the users current mail address while message mails are send to the users previous mail.
"The user" are in this case administrator.

In 1.7+ a user can specify an email address to use with messaging, which is stored in the user_preferences table only once the user has saved their messaging preferences. The address is not related to the one stored in the users profile

Oh, that explains everything, it goes for v. 1.6+ too. Thanks a lot, I have been very mystified by this. So this issue is no bug!

yes the different address was because you might want to forward them to SMS or something

Anyway, all this being revamped in this project

which should give people a lot more control over ALL moodle messaging.

Actually as admin I did not want all the system mails in my usual inbox, so I chanced my email address. Mysteriously but nevertheless convenient all the messages still came to my 'own' email address. While I didn't understand why, I feared the day that this problem would apply to one of the other site users.
Anyway, thanks for the link to Student Projects.
