Description
When students are requested to upload files, whether as part of an assignment or in other contexts, it seems that any and all formats are accepted by Moodle.
It would be very, very, very useful for the instructor to be able to set Moodle to accept only specified MIME types for certain uploads, others would get a warning and not be allowed. e.g. specific assignments may require that a student turn in a particular format, such as a MIDI file. If Moodle, can be set so that the instructor can choose which MIME types are allowed for upload for that assignment, a lot of time and effort would be saved.
The default would be that any type would be allowed, but there should be an option to limit what the student can upload (for a particular assignment) to just certain formats. e.g. application/pdf
or video/quicktime, video/mpeg
