Description

I installed moodle 1.8 in my computer and found out some display problems when I use IE 6 to browse the moodle pages.

In the home page, the allignment of the textboxes and the "Login" buttons are not correct. And the checkboxes in the edit profile page are also not displayed correctly.

And there might be some other pages have the display problems withe the textboxes and the checkboxes.

When I use IE 7 or Firefox 2, there is no problem with the display. I think this might be the browser support issue.

I justed tested today's 1.8 beta with IE 6 and I can confirm the above issues. The 'Login' button is misaligned and the checkboxes in the profile show what looks like half of a checkbox.

Looks OK here.

1) Try refreshing your browser cache of the CSS files by holding down control or shift as you press the refresh button.

2) It could be a custom theme problem, try a standard theme.

3) If the problem persists, please post screenshots and/or access to a demo site.

Here is a screenshot using a clean Windows XP install with IE6 and all updates installed. The Moodle install is a completely new install from today's latest stable 02 April 2007. The login button appears justified left instead of centered above the 'Create new account' link.

Here's an example of the half-checkbox in the Picture section. This only happens on IE6.

OK, I see it now. Stupid IE6. Works fine on IE7 and Firefox.

The login box is now fixed.

The half checkbox problem was caused by a fix to MDL-7779. The fix has now been reverted. MDL-7779 is a small cosmetic problem due to a bug in IE and the fix applied was causing worse problems than the original problem.
