cannot open resource like .doc and others in Firefox only

Description

i just notice: in IE 7 resource like .doc, .pdf, and other can be open by clicking the link provided but in Firefox clicking the said resource not working.

Im using 1.8+ version

you can try adding by adding a document file let say .doc extension. after successfully adding a link will be provided click the said link using IE and test using Firefox.

Could you give me more information about your system and your moodle settings? I am unable to reproduce this problem with Firefox 2.0.0.3 on Windows XP SP2 and Linux Fedora Core 5.

i just updated my moodle to latest 1.8+ its working now, perhaps its the bug report file MDL-9241 Fixed a typo: used if($mimetype = 'application/x-pdf')

i think this solves the problem....

I can't reproduce this issue with any combination of browser/OS/install settings. Please confirm again after updating (recent updates to this code may have solved this already).
