Description

I backed up the front page of this site: http://ialc106.ip.wsu.edu/edtech/moodle/

Using the backup file, I restored the front page as a new course in another Moodle on the same server (same Moodle version, 1.8+).

The only content that restored was the course description. Everything else, including wikis, forum entries, and resources, is missing.

I also tried restoring the front page to a new course within the same Moodle and had the same result.

What exactly does the Backup of the Front Page suppose to do? I tried to do it with Moodle 1.8.2 from one to the other - but it seemed to stick my existing 1.8.2 FrontPage content into a course for the new 1.8.2. I thought it would at least replicate the Frontpage onto the other FrontPage - but alas this seems not to be the case.

It may be worth updating the Moodle Forum post:

As folks do not seem to know there as well.

Thanks,

Bob

Did you try to restore it to the Front page of another moodle site, or as a new course or to an "ordinary" course. Front page >> Front page is my understanding of how this should be used.

Hi,

I've just resolved MDL-10125. And I guess that such bug could be causing the behaviour described here.

Plz, can you test if, with current versions (available in 24 hours - nightly builds) restoring of "site courses" are working again?

It was a problem with "rolling start dates" of courses (because front-page courses and social courses haven't start date.

TIA and ciao
