Description

I think this is a bug. I am sorry if this is not true.

If you are a web user (not authenticated) you can read more (you can click the "more" link and read all the message) about a "general announcement" message posted in the home page.
If you are logged in you can no longer read it.

I forget to add that this is true by default. Of course you can change it... but the default should be different.

Hi, we are planning to add the overrides automatically for auth user role in the front page course. This applies to installations before 1.7 and new installations. Also, I think it's safe to add these overrides if there is no existing overrides in the front page course.

I believe that with the just added new setting: defaultfrontpageroleid in Moodle 1.9
the described problem no longer exists.

It still exists in Moodle 1.8

Hi Daniele,

this has been fixed for 1.9 and due to complete refactoring it's near impossible to backport this to 1.8.

I think defaultfrontpageroleid must be Guest rahter than empty, to retain old behaviour without manual intervention on every site.
