Description
Since upgrading from 1.6 to 1.8 loading the assignment page for my course takes an excessive amount of time. Performance info for loading the page is:

Let me know what steps you would like for me to take to test and/or help debug this. I'm a little new at diving into the logs but I'm willing to put some time in to help get to the bottom of this. There seem to be a few places where performance has really taken a hit. Would it be helpful to create a meta-bug to link together these performance related issues?
The same problem.
At processing request (by the "top" utility), working webserver (loading on a database small).
