Description

The Moodle4Mac (Intel) for Moodle 1.9 Beta+ installs ok and i can run UpdateMoodle19.sh for cvs. the problem occurs when i visit the moodle admin page to update the db.

Upgrading Moodle database from version 1.9 Beta + (2007100301) to 2.0 dev (2007101501)...

moodle environment states: php version 5.2.0 is required and you are running 5.1.6

in other words, can php 5.2+ be bundled in Moodle4Mac for 1.9+

Cheers, Chad

rasising to critical. Makes 2.0 MacOS package unusable.

Ralf, have you any time to look into upgrading PHP for all Moodle packages to 5.2?

Yes, I can do this. If I update to MAMP 1.7.1 then automaticly we will get better packages in the background.
The problem will be that MAMP 1.7.1 runs only on computers with Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5 .... but this fact would not be the greatest problem. We will get bigger download packages with MAMP 1.7.1 (125 MB) instead of the current packages with MAMP 1.4.1 (ca. 80 MB).

My own Moodle4Mac runs with MAMP 1.7.1 since November 2007.

My current test version is ready and uploaded. It uses MAMP 1.7.1 and Moodle 1.9 (20080417)
http://download.moodle.org/macosx/Moodle4Mac-Intel-19-20080417.dmg

Please try to get it smaller then 127 MB. The updater currently uses MOODLE_19_STABLE bit the next version will get MOODLE_19_WEEKLY ... I did this because I got a downgrade error message with the weekly version today.

Please look at http://download.moodle.org/macosx and you will find Moodle4Mac 1.9 and 2.0 dev together with MAMP 1.7.1.
The only problem is still the missing php extension xmlrpc because I do not know how to recompile a new php version for MAMP.

The new versions of Moodle4Mac will work with the php extensions xmlrpc and zip. I had to compile the extensions and to add them in the php.ini. The upload of the new version for Moodle4Mac 2.0 is finished ... Moodle4Mac 1.9 still need "some minutes".

I hope that everything runs fine. Please let me know if you will get any problem with Moodle4Mac.
