I've updated the language packs on moodle.org and installed a new pack (bn).

As far as I know, all installed language packs should be updated each time a site is upgraded. As moodle.org is updated regularly (it's currently 1.9.3+) this should mean that language packs are kept fairly up-to-date. I'm just wondering why you thought that the language packs hadn't been updated for at least 2 months...

Regarding updating the language packs on demo.moodle.org, I'm reassigning this issue to Eloy to do so. (I obtained a permissions error when I attempted it!)

i know that it hasn't been upgraded, at least for french (so, i suppose, for other languages too), for 2 months, because i know that some strings have been modified on september 26 : for exemple "numberweeks" in moodle.php, as Nicolas Martignoni said in this (french) discussion :

And it wasn't in moodle.org one hour ago, before you did the language packs upgrade

Séverin, thanks for the additional information. Hopefully Eloy can investigate why installed language packs weren't updated when moodle.org was updated.

I've updated the lang packs (and monitored the process) some minutes ago. New files seems to be in place. Can you confirm if it's ok? If not... can you point to some exact string to search for and compare?

About langs in demo, Helen... I think you need to install them in demomaster and they will be automatically copied to demo in your next upgrade.

I've just take a look, and :

• it seems good on moodle.org (like it was after Helen's update)
• it's still the old (more than 2 months) language pack on demo.moodle.org

For exemple, when you look at course parameters, "numberweeks" in moodle.php was translated as "Nombre de semaines ou de thèmes", and now (for more than 2 months), it's "Nombre de sections" (but not yet on demo.moodle.org).

The thing is that demo.moodle.org is built from another server, called demomaster, that is password protected... and I have lost the password but don't want to change it.

So... I must wait until Helen reads this to tell me the password. Then, langs can be updated in demomaster and transferred to demo.

If everything is automated to update langage packs automatically, at least when updates are done, i think it can be closed.

Well, automated... it isn't.

But I've added this message to the demo upgrade process: "remember to update lang packs in demomaster before upgrading demo", so we'll start doing that as a norm.
