no email from moodle.org for 24 hours and counting ..

Description

I have not received any Moodle-mail for 24 hours and counting.

Apparently there was a problem with a database table at moodle.org;

eMails from Moodle.org forums broken?
http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=112661

But still no emails have arrived in my inbox. Perhaps the backlog is taking a while to clear?

The last email I received yesterday was this one dated 12:36 pm
(that's Japanese time so it is probably something different for you)

It's something quite bizarre killing cron (just after it marks the forum posts as read).

I wonder if it's a bug of some kind ... see: MDL-17673

Is anyone else not seeing email in the latest 1.9.x from CVS?

I'm pretty sure it is a bug in the forum module. I reverted just that module back a week and it's sending mail again.

Since reporting this almost 12 hours ago, I received only 1 email. Perhaps this will point to the issue.

The 1 email was from Mauno responding to http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=112681. What I noticed is that his email address is used as the from address, normally the email address shows noreply@moodle.org.

moodle.org should be normal now, but old mails that were not sent will not be sent (there is no "backlog" as such).

MDL-17673 is the one to watch for the proper fix in 1.9.x.

(Ron, the reply address behaviour that you saw is correct and always worked like that. It depends on the sender's setting in their profile for email address visibility)

Now seeing the time difference, I thought I would add that Mauno's email came through about 45 minutes ago. So not receiving any additional emails since then may be a backlog issue.
