Description

I have been trying to dowload the Windows Complete Moodle Package 1.9.3+ for about the last 12 hours. The first time it seemed to start downloading, but then it suddenly stopped making progress. When I checked, it said 0 bytes had been downloaded! So I canceled and started over. I have tried several times, both with the automatic and manual methods. It hasn't even gotten to the point where it prompts me for a location to save it. My browser is Firefox 3.0.4.

Hi Richard,

FF 3.0.4 (Mac) here. I've tried http://download.moodle.org/windows/MoodleWindowsInstaller-latest-19.zip and has worked perfectly.

Closing as cannot reproduce... perhaps it has been some network problem at your side?

Ciao

EL,

Now that you have summarily closed the issue, I don't know if you will ever see this. But just in case:

Just to make sure the problem is not with my FF or system (Windows XP Pro), I went to another website (Matt's Script Archive) and tried to download a zip file there. I was immediately prompted for where to save it. Then I went back to download.moodle.org and tried again. I used the manual download link, which is most like the downloads at other websites. After 25 minutes of absolutely nothing, I gave up.

So if Moodle's own tracker can't help me, who can????????????? I've been hired to install Moodle by a computer store, but if I can't download it, I can't install it. No install, no pay.

Again, so you can't reproduce, but I can. I've been doing nothing but reproducing it all day. I wish I couldn't reproduce it. What can I do to diagnose & fix the problem?

EL,

I went to the Windows Installer for Moodle 1.8+ and was immediately prompted for a disposition and location to save it. I have actually downloaded the generic Moodle 1.9.3+. That will take care of the computer store. But I would still like to be able to download the Windows Installer for it. See http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=112665

Hi Richard,

you can safely comment on closed bugs, no problem at all, and those comments are sent to developers. But they are reopened only if something in new comments "proves" there is a bug out there. And in this case the bug wasn't in Moodle servers. Hence the "close as cannot reproduce" decision.

It seems that you ended fixing the problem at your side, great! Sure your feedback:

"I solved the problem by clearing cache and cookies. "

helps other people having the same problem. Thanks!
