Description

Hi - I was trying to get into dev.moodle.org, both directly via the URL and also through an MNET link from Helen Foster (http://moodle.org/auth/mnet/jump.php?hostwwwroot=http://dev.moodle.org&wantsurl=/course/view.php?id=2) - but in IE7 I get an error message: A server error that affects your login session was detected. Please login again or restart your browser.

I can successfully log in to dev.moodle.org with the link and using MNET in Firefox. IE7 does not present any problems with moodle.org itself, or the Tracker.

I can also jump between my own Moodle sites using MNET when using IE7.

Petr, any idea why IE7 would have different session handling?

This looks like the same problem as http://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDLSITE-614

Eloy changed sessioncookie (cookie_prefix?) for download.moodle.org and it helped there - maybe all sessions of (subdomains of) moodle.org are stored to same location/folder and IE somehow mixes them...?

I remember having this problems with Java Web Application in domains and subdomains of it. Something like Explorer sending back BOTH cookies to the application server and making the server to become crazy.

The only solution was, if I'm not wrong, to personalize the cookie name (a.k.a sessioncookie in Moodle). So setting that config for dev.moodle.org should stop the problem.

Ciao

Eloy, thanks for your advice. I've set a session cookie for dev.moodle.org.
