Jira does not email watchers/assignees when a comment is added via the 'link' form

Description

The "link" form is identical to the "comment" form except that it will add a link as well... and it will forget to email people :-/

To confirm I understand your request correctly, you want those associated with a bug (watcher, assignee) AND those associated with any bugs linked to it, to be notified when a change is made in either bug.

If this what you're looking for, the answer unfortunately is no. At present, Jira does not have this functionality, but it has been requested. See http://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-10930.

I think what I want is simpler... those associated with a bug (watchers, assignee) be notified when a link + comment is added. You are right, it would be good if that happens on both "from" and "to" bugs.

Can't do this at the moment without customisation to the system. I'm a watcher on the Jira request, but can't give an indication of when that'll happen.

it does look like an upstream bug (minor, but a bug nonetheless). May be worthwhile to mention it to the Jira developers...
